Kerry Waller
Kerry grew up playing Basketball at Morphett Vale stadium, the home of the Noarlunga City Tigers (Southern Tigers). Her love of the game started when she hit the Mini Ball courts at age 5 and was just 14 when she attended her first senior women’s training.
As a player her proudest moments were winning a Gold Medal in the Green and Gold at the 2001 Oceania Basketball Championships in Suva, Fiji and being a member of the Sydney Uni Flames first WNBL Development Squad the “Sparks” in 2005.
Relocating from Adelaide to Melbourne as an 18 year old to undertake an AFL Sports Ready traineeship at the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL), she never would never have imagined it would be the beginning of an amazing journey and the first of many opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.
Despite not achieving her personal goal of playing in the WNBL, Kerry focused her energy and passion for sport on developing a diverse career in sports administration and management across Basketball and Shooting.
After becoming a mum, Kerry’s passion for networking, collaboration and authentic connections was reignited in 2023/24 as a participant in the Inaugural Marjorie Jackson Nelson Centre for Women’s Sport and Australian Sports Commissions Women Leaders in Sport workshop programs.
During her time as a member of the BSA Female Participation Strategy Committee the need for clearer pathways for girls and women to participate in the game we love at every level was clear. So when given the chance to try Special Comments for NBL1 Central games and join the SA Shotclock podcast she jumped at the chance to add a female voice and promote the opportunity for others to get involved.
Kerry joined the STB crew in early 2025 co-hosting live pods from the Trans-Tasman Opals Vs Tall Ferns series in Adelaide, and soon after launched her South Australian focussed podcast Courtside Coffee Catch-Up.
